Emotions would have to be secondary, otherwise, why even bother. There are women who have personalities just like men and vice-versa...so if it was a question of how that person made you feel, why not just be with a woman if you are a man and a man if you are a woman?

Both physical and intellectual attractions are involved in most relationships. Some tend to be more physical, some more intellectual.
My first sexual relationship, man to man, started with an intellectual attraction to an older man, a philosophy student, who dazzled me with his erudition and yearning for understanding of matters spiritual. Incidentally, he struggled for years with his homosexuality, trying even when I knew him to deny it, to "choose Jesus." He was unable to transcend his homosexuality. This in part led me to conclude that homosexuality is organic, it is in a person from the time they are conceived. You cannot choose to be anything other than you are. You can choose not to act on this, but the sexual drive is very strong.

I have had deep feelings for three women in my life. Initially I wasn't at all attracted to any of them, not even a little. Then I got to know them and that is when my feelings developed. I'm kind of weird though, because I really am not at all physically attracted to any female (I actually am more attracted physically to men), but when I get to know them if they have the traits that I admire and look for I fall hard. For some reason I just don't fall for men.

I can only speak for myself....Yes the physical plays a big part in it. I can admire a man's body, think it's nice; attractive in some kind of abstract visual-only way. But I am in no way sexually or physically attracted to him. Just the thought of those "wrong" parts makes me shudder in a bad way. I like guys, they're awesome friends, but that's it.
Women's bodies make me shudder in a very GOOD way...even if they have crappy personalities.

Its the same as people of the opposite sex. There is the physical attraction first. Emotions come second.

Some beleive we're straight, bi or gay even before we're old enough to date & some say dating the opposite sex is what brought them to realize they were more attracted to the same sex. A gay friend of my teen grandson said he liked girls in elementary school but after he dated girls in high school, he was about to get lucky one night & stopped himself because it disgusted him to even think about penetrating a vagina! Now he's penetrating anus's but I, a hetero, can't "get a perspective" on how a body cavity that's sanitary enough for babies to pass thru can be more disgusting than a body cavity that feces passes thru!

The attraction works towards the same-sex just like it does the opposite sex. all the feelings that you feel when you're with the opposite sex or like the opposite sex thats what homosexuals feel for each other.

quite obvious.
men are beautiful
as are women.
but when a man
happens upon another large penis unexpected, like in a lockerroom or shower
he most often, because of societal influences, will try deny his interest.
i am convinced that only a man can know how best to please a man simply because we know best what a penis likes.

i always thought girls were better kissers anyways. most guys my age (rather young) are immature, but the older guys only want one thing. so yes, i guess it is physical because girls are more pleasurable.

Believe it or not a lot of people end up turning to one of their own sex because they have been burned so many times by the other,
