My daughter has a dwarf hampster, last night and earlier this morning he was just fine running around and playing. Then when she just checked on him he is barely moving, his stomach looks flat ,he is still breathing and everything, but he is practictaly lifeless. He wasn't smooshed or anything, she is very careful with him. He had been in his little home all day then she finds him just laying there barely moving. I think he may be dehydrated but I don't know. Does anyone know what to do?? Please help she is crying...

Hamsters are nocturnal animals, they sleep generally all day and run all night... Maybe that could be the problem...

Also, they sell vitamin drops you can add to the water bottle at the pet store....You could try that as well....

He is probably sick..You might want to call a vet. I use to work in a pet department at a store and if they looked like that we usually removed them from the other hamsters. Does he have diarrhea? if he does then he might have wet tail and there is medicine for that.
