I have a college interview with a Penn alum. It is going to be at a coffee shop, so the atmosphere is going to be kinda casual. He is going to expect me to ask questions. Does anybody have any tips on what questions I should ask?

Ask if you are going to turn into a great big ****** like all other Penn alums, or is that something they give you at graduation?

Ask if you should buy your gun now or wait until you get to campus, for the commute?

Ask why any person in their rigth mind would go to college in Philadelphia?

Ask why he isn't meeting you somewhere better than a coffee shop, or is that all that an Ivy League degree is worth these days?

Ask if he will show you that "special" trick the Ivy League frat boys do with the Coke bottle and the vaseline?

College interviews are meant to give you answers to any college questions, including questions about the university. I asked about study abroad and academic clubs- even asking what the typical student does in terms of extracurriculars is helpful- it shows you're interested what the student body invests their time in, and if you ask about what community service opportunities are nearby, you can mention some service you've done in the past. You can also ask what activities or things the alum thought made his college experience unforgettable and worthwhile at Penn.

Things like:- What do you hope to achieve in following this course? Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now? Are you receptive to constructive criticism? How do you feel you interact with others in the workplace? How would you deal with fellow classmates/workers who are obviously antagonistic towards others? What interests do you have outside of classroom/work? Do you consider yourself to be over-ambitious? Your CV will obviously record previous history, but you could be asked questions about some of it's content. These are just a general few - depends very much on the person carrying out the interview - all different.

You need to ask exactly what you are curious about.

For example:
If you play sports: ask about their division sports or club sports if you're not interested in putting in time for division.

If you are into music/singing: ask about bands, acappella groups, etc.

Definitely ask information about your major/interest of learning.

Ask about studying abroad if you are interested in that.

Ask about what the dorms are like or/if there are on campus apartments

Ask about life of the city (if you're not from around there)

Definitely ask about what you NEED to know. Ask about things that interest you or fears you have. Good luck!
