This is a follow-up question to one I asked last week.

Last week I asked if there was an Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball team worthy of an at-large bid to the March Madness Tournament. The overwhelming answer was "If any, Xavier."

The new question is Do you think the tournament commitee would give Xavier an at-large bid should they make a good showing in the coference tournament, but not win the automatic bid?

i think they are one of the last teams in if they make a decent showing in the A-10 tournament, but right now they are one of those teams that are right on the bubble, and they're fighting teams like clemson, villanova, syracuse, providence, michigan state, maryland, illinois and the entire missouri valley conference for those last spots...i'm not so sure umass will get a spot over the teams i just listed, because their SOS is poor

If I answered that last week, I apologize. That's a tough question but unfortunately, no. Xavier hasn't really played any tough games outside of the A-10, and the problem with a team like Xavier is that if someone else wins the at-large bid, there will be one or two other mid-major tournaments won by surpirse team where a higher ranked RPI than Xavier would get in.

Xavier and Massachusetts are both 19-7. Both of these teams will get an at larg bid if they do good in the A - 10 tournament. It would be hard to over look both of these teams. If they win at least 2 games in the A-10 championship. If Rhode Island losses and does not win a game in the tourament then both Xavier and Mass. will get bids.

As of last week, Xavier was at 48 in the RPI, which is really on the bubble. UMass is at 62, and GW was down at 89.

I'd imagine Xavier would have to get to the final of the Atlantic Ten tournament to really cement a bid. Otherwise I don't see that league getting more than 1 bid.

i think of the A-10 is a one and achieved league. In years previous, A-10 communities performed extra durable schedules- see Temple and UMass- and specific communities ought to easily dominate the league, get a extensive RPI, and not might desire to win the tournament. the only crew close to to at-large worth is Xavier, or maybe then with seven or 8 losses and a low RPI, they possibly won't be in a position to sneak off the bubble.
