Yeah i've read hitchicker guide to the galaxy... i know it's kind not usual without aliens but i want to make it different... i've written alot already and it seems to be working... if i finish it and it REALLY needs aliens then i might put sum in, untill then, i'll try to keep away from stuff people have done... and although i liked hitchicker guide to the galaxy, i don't want to copy it... this needs to be original... well as original as i can make it :)

That would depend on who you ask.

My own preference is science fiction.

But, if you want to know what kind of book you should write, the person to ask is the one who stares back at you from the mirror every morning.

My advice, just sit down with paper and pencil or in front of
your computer and start writing.

It works for me.

Dude, have you ever read Douglas Adams' "Hichhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?" It's very funny.

It just seems rather one-dimensional to do space stories without aliens. You can't do an interstellar thing without aliens unless you're, like, Isaac Asimov or something. And even he had mutants (Don't believe me? Read the Foundation series).

Make it about a smell. For instance: A being that smells like peppermint. It floated to earth accidentally because it became so pungent the atmosphere of it's home planet wouldn't contain it.It can't speak since it has no lips, etc. It has to learn to communicate by imitating smells. It can smell like anything it wants to. That's it's "Power."

Well I'm going to have to disagree with you here, Cos i think the best books are self help books and instruction books. ^-^ you know like, Cooking children made simple or how to become an evil penguin overlord. :)
