This is an addendum to my question of about 30 min. ago.
I want to name my baby girl after my brother who was killed in a car accident a year ago. I would love it to start with the "Jays" sound. Thanks, I'm getting desperate but feel so stong about this. Help!

Jasmine is the only one I can find with the Jas sound.

Other Ja names though are:

Jade
Jazz
Jamie
Jacqueline
Jane

Or similar sounding ones are:

Jess
Jessica
Jessie
Jossie
Joss
Joyce

Hope this helps a bit!

How about naming her Jasyn or Jacyn and using a very feminine middle name, that way it's spelled differently, looks female, but is pronounced just like your brother's. I am so sorry for your loss. Jasyn would be a good tribute to your brother, and possible to use your brother's middle name too as a female version?

Jasmeen
Jasmine
Jasmina
Jasneet

I like Jaycee myself
I am sorry for your lost. My daughter middle name is Elizabeth after my mom who died also. I think there is no better way to Honor a person than by naming it after someone you love.
Congratulations on your daughter

I think that is a really cool tribute to your brother.
How about Jaysah. Jayna, Jayne, Jaysie.

Jasmine is really sweet, although it only follows Jason in spelling, not in pronunciation.

Maybe you could make her middle name be Jason?
