Holy toledo who where would we get the extra tax dollars from if we disallowed smoking!! Remember smokers are taxed heavy! Also would R J pull the money from the smoking law suits?? States don't want to disallow smoking because they make to much money on it.
However if someone wants to have an abortion then they need to pay for it themselves!! Not the government!!

if we "disallow" abortion how much tax money do you think will be spent on the unwanted babies?
are you willing to raise your taxes, and volunteer your time to take care of the millions of babies per year the Pro-life people are always talking about?
disallowing people to smoke will also cut a revenue stream to all levels of government, do you want to pick up the slack for this? Nicotine is highly addictive, the smokers would get their fix anyway, through an untaxable black market.
I don't think its a good idea to disallow either of them.

Don't quite see how taxpayers money would be spent on "disallowing abortions"...or for that matter disallowing smoking.... except for the bone head politicians who want to set up bureaucracies for anything and everything.... spending our money is their job.

I used to be a smoker. Now I think smoking is disgusting and cannot stand the smell of it, or the thought of what is does to your lungs.
I also have a newborn child who I love very much and think that the decision to have the child should be up to the parents not the government.
I would rather see nation wide smoking bans. But I really think the government should keep its laws off our bodies.
Also abortion should be a last resort not a form of birth control.

In what way would we be spending tax payer money? You mean to lock people up for controlling their reproduction or lock people up for choosing which poisons to ingest?
How about we don't force anyone to have an abortion and we don't allow public smoking? (Since Tom Delay is out of government, maybe those forcing abortions in the Marianas under his protection have stopped.)

Smokers can hurt the lungs of nonsmokers. I would rather spend money on the smoking issue.
The other issue is up to the mother and father of the child.

People should be allowed to smoke. (Which brings tax dollars in).
They should not be able to in public, however (which according to the trend of states adopting to that policy, it will probably be everywhere).
People should be allowed to have abortions too.
