Most pro-life people are pro death penalty. I thought a life is a life. It doesn't matter how miserable a life some of these babies will live as long as they survive childberth. Once these babies are alive they want to cut off funding to the poor and abused. Is that what Jesus preached?

I've never figured that out either. I don't recall the 10 Commandments saying "Thou shalt not kill....except in the following circumstances." I always thought the "Thou shalt not kill" part was pretty clear. Pro-death penalty and anti-abortion seem pretty contradictory to me. Obviously an unborn child cannot protect itself, but the death penalty isn't an effective deterrent. The 8 (I think) states without the death penalty have lower murder rates than states like Texas and Florida, that execute the most people.

Let me get your positions right...

Jesus would have preached to kill babies that might end up being poor?

You define life as "surviving childbirth"?

You say "a life is a life" so as to apply moral equivalency to a murderer and a newborn baby? Does that mean that for you there's no "right to life threshold" on the Hitler - innocent newborn scale? Is it OK to kill any of them? None of them? How about your elderly grandfather in a wheelchair?

I don't agree with "cutting off funding to the poor and abused". But I'm wondering if perhaps you were referring to Bill Clinton's 1996 Welfare Reform Act. That was the last major reform of any such funding.

Do you realize how silly you sound?

Many pro-lifers believe there is a moral difference between killing an innocent human fetus and a guilty human murderer. The situations are different, in their view.

And what leads you to believe that most pro-lifers believe in cutting off funding for the poor and abused? Pro-lifers and fiscal conservatives happen to find themselves represented by the same party in the U.S., but that does not mean the two groups see eye-to-eye on those issues.

To suggest that the groups are the same would be like suggesting that most pro-labor people are also pro-gay marriage.

Babies have committed no crime can you say the same for those on death row.

Since today day many of the killings are gang related, & many are juveniles it is unlikely death or long terms in prison scare them. It is even likely they have consitterred suicide. Giving painless death sentences could be considered cruel and unusual punishment for those yet to commit a crime. It carries NO deterent value!

As long as you preach entitlements & have pumping out kids as away to earn a living you will create poverty. Even in the garden of Eden GOD had man working. (S)He didn't preach loffing or living off the sweat of others.

The only thing one is entitled to is the opportunity to use your talents to create wealth in the world! Yourself esteem will improve & some of that wealth will be returned to your pocket.

i'm against abortion, yet for the dying penalty in the event that they are a hundred% confident actually the guy is accountable. i think of it incredibly is an exceptionally distinctive condition, i advise abortion is killing an harmless toddler who did no longer ask to be made, and have had no threat at existence. dying penalty is killing somebody who has commited a terrible crime, why could we save around women and adult adult males human beings who're killing others? They comprehend suitable from incorrect, they comprehend killing is erroneous they shouldnt be allowed to stay in a detention center that are overpopulated and the tax payers could pay for, they could be waiting to be in a detention center with cable, cyber web ext. they dont deserve it and why could tax payers could pay for those killers. Abortion and the dying penalty are very distinctive one is killing an harmless toddler, the different is killing a terrible excuse for a individual.

Honestly, I'd rather have Madonna and her ilk adopts babies from the US. My adopted son survived foster care. I cannot imagine him not in the world.

Frankly, the issues are mutually exclusive. No baby ever committed a capital crime.

Jesus would want the children to have a chance at life. Abortion equals zero chance, automatically.

EDIT - Jesus also taught people to follow the laws of their land.

This has been done before. There is a difference between a cold blooded killer who dismembers children... oh wait... that's the abortionist....
There is a difference between a serial killer who wantonly takes the lives of others (that is the very essence of evil) and an unborn child... the very essence of innocence. If you can't differentiate between the two I'm truly sorry for you....sad...really sad...

One has a choice( The criminal) The baby doesn't have a choice. How do you figure that they are cutting funds to the poor, when you have welfare, food stamps and government handouts. The poor are being irresponsible by getting knocked up.

I didnt see anywhere in the Bible Jesus preaching smach the heads of the unwanted born or unborn, maybe i missed a line?

Death Penialty is a different issue, the criminal makes an active life decision to commit such crimes.. and just think if we kill more of them we can afford to use the money we save from losing the life imprisonment costs to apply to the poor then so there your problem is solved

This is such an over-asked question. Surely they showed you some others when you put this in.

Being "pro death penalty" is about the good of society, and ridding society of trash.

Being "pro life" is about the good of society and allowing innocent life to be born.

They are totally different things. Unless you wish to start talking about possible punishments for murder.
