Well I'm female and that type of a handshake would be more sincere than a obligitory handshake. It would tell me that the person is genuinely glad they met me.
Also - when someone shakes my hand, they better be looking me directly in the eyes or I am totally put off.

I would take it that the person is sincerely proud to meet you or see you again. It is a more personal hand shake. Many older people do it and I take it as a sincere gesture.

The extra hand in the handshake means that this person is glad to see/meet me. I would take the gesture as it was apparently intended. I would entertain the notion that this person is sincere.

i really don't like shaking hands period. hands are gross and you don't know where theirs have been. i feel dirty and want to wash them asap. folding their hand over mine........I HATE THAT. it is like a subtle molestation.

It depend on who it is. If I like the person, cool. If I don't like the person - not cool.

not really.... but it is a very close friend, I wouldn't mind... but if it is a girl who is not close, I understand she is wanting to get "close" to me
