Family Guy had a really strong start but has become really weak, American Dad is beginning to find its stride and the writing has become much better. Thing is that Family Guy really has nothing going for it beyond the obvious exaggerated character flaws and even they've become diluted - Stewie no longer wants to kill Lois and take over the world, Brian's nothing more than his lame sidekick and Peter just gets more and more idiotic… great…

Even the segments bashing the show on South Park were better than actual Family Guy material.

I have to say Family Guy because I've been a fan for ages, but American Dad is like the extreme Family Guy, an extremely sharp satire of middle-America attitude and just damn funny too!

Vive la Family Guy et American Dad!! Both are great! :o)

American Dad is the best here is some trivia

Roger's voice is based on Paul Lynde. Uncle Arthur in the original Bewitched

The series was partially inspired by "All in the Family" (1971).

Steve's original design was much geekier and gawky and he was voiced by Ricky Blitt. Halfway through production, his voice actor changed to Scott Grimes and his design was made to be more attractive, so he would be less comparable to Neil Goldman from "Family Guy" (1999).

Fox showed a viewer discretion warning before airing episode 102 "Threat Levels" due to "Cartoon Nudity".

The goldfish's voice is based on Peter Lorre.

Steve's friend Snot is based on Booger from Revenge of the Nerds (1984) and is voiced by Curtis Armstrong, who played Booger.

In episode 104 ("Francine's Flashback"), we find out that Francine was 20 in 1985. We can draw from this that Francine was born in 1965, and that in the cartoon she is around 40 years old. This is confirmed in Episode 123 ("Tears of a Clooney"), in which it is Francine's 40th birthday.

Hayley says in "Stan Knows Best" that she is 18 years old. Based on this information, we can assume that she was born in either 1986 or 1987 (depending on what month her birthday is in.)

The headline of the Langley Falls Post that Stan reads in the opening credits is different in every episode.

WILHELM SCREAM: In "Roger Codger", immediately following the explosion of the grenade Stan's new coworker throws.

In some episodes, the opening sequence is shortened severely, and the final few seconds (the flag and the accompanying "Good morning, USA!") of animation is all that remains.

American Dad all the way. They push the limits more so than even the Family Guy did when it first came on.

FAMILY GUY is far superior to AMERICAN DAD. AMERICAN DAD is merely derivative of FAMILY GUY. For every character on FG, there is a corresponding character, with the same type of quirks, on AD. It's like they used FG as a template for AD, or something!

The difference between the two is like the difference between a quality, name-brand item, and its corresponding store-brand version, you know, like JIF Peanut Butter, and KRASDALE Peanut Butter.

Family Guy is way better.

American Dad is just a cartoon about republicans, this day and age, their views aren't so funny.

i comprehend this would possibly not earn me any factors given your place yet American Dad isn't as humorous as family contributors guy yet. advert lacks the pop custom references that make FG between the funniest exhibits on television suitable now. it incredibly is amazingly solid, yet i do no longer there is the attachment to the characters yet, desire to Stewie or Peter, yet which is often artifact 2ndary to term. backside line:FG is a lot extra advantageous so far yet I nonetheless TIVO the two exhibits.
