I used to be a tall, size 8/10 but then I met my boyfriend and started becoming complacent, and am now nearly a size 14. I've started trying to loose weight as I initially felt uncomfortable about it, but then I received a compliment froma distant cousin who said I look better now, which has made me confused... what do you think I should do? Loose weight or dress appropriately for my new curvy shape?

A size 14 is a perfect size to be, stay as you are! I know a few women who would love to be a size 14 and one of those is a size 8!
Skinny women look ill and all the guys I know prefer some curves!

UK size 14 is not that big! I am a UK size 12 (although I am living in Germany currenty) and believe me that is not that big at all! I think that it looks nice to have some curves on a tall frame. So I am tall and when I lost a little weight recently my bf asked what was happening as I was losing my a.s.s too and he didn't like that! I say keep the curves, women should look like women and a curvy girl always turns heads where as a thin flat skin and bones woman won't. I think it is MUCH sexier being curvy - hold your head up high girl :-)

Curves on a girl are fantastic - I prefer a girl who has some shape. I know people who are size 14 but are perfectly in proportion and look great in an evening dress.

I have friends who think Kate Moss has an amazing figure - I personally don't see it myself. Marilyn Monroe was a size 16 (although I believe from what I'm told that would be about a 12 -14 now) and she had the most amazing sexy figure and looked great in whatever she was wearing.

I wouldn't berate anybody for their size, big or small, so ultimately if you feel comfortable with the way you are then that's ok.

If you feel uncomfortable about being a 14 then you should try going down to a size 12. I think a size 12 looks really good and healthy, especially with taller women. I'm a UK size 6-8 but i'm only short, 5ft3". I have big hips and buttocks but a tiny waist so it gives me a figure. Men love bigger bums. I say stay bigger. Bigger is better. Curvy is definately in.

Actually, I have taken many psych classes, I am in college and becoming a psychologist... I learned that men are attracted to women with curves because it is healthy, we are designed to reproduce and therefore men are designed to be attracted to women with curves... A stick skinny girl cannot easily become pregnant. However, what makes me upset is that society pushes for women to be unhealthily thin, so men are raised sometimes, not always to be more attracted to the thin look, just because it is the new fad. But the older they are and the closer they get to being a mature man, probably around age 23 or so the more they are attracted to women with curves because they are becoming closer to the age to want a family to settle down with... Size 14 sounds big, but being tall totally makes the biggest difference, for every inch taller you are, I think you can weight like 5 more pounds. In high school guys would have always gone for the thinner girl!! Even now in college, but my boyfriend is 24 and I am a little curvey, and he is really hot, ha ha lol

Believe it or not curvy is in. Most men don't want a stick figure at thier sides. I work in the fashion industry in Mahattan and lately I've been seeing more for curvy women. Think of it this way...what woman in history was considered to be the sexiest woman alive....heres a hint, Marilynn Monroe. By the way she was 5'3" and a size 12.

it depends on your height, but if youre pretty tall, being a size 14 might not be bad. because youre weight will be stretched out with your size. if that makes any sense. if its a health issue then id say try to lose like 5-10 pounds, and see how it goes from there. ive been a size 9-12 my whole life, and even though i want to lose weight, im happy where i am. so just love it girl!

curvey!!!!

Before uni i was 8 and half stone and skinny as a rake. I dodnt realise how bad i looked at the time. I did baloon in weight and my body changed shape as i was still growing but now i am a pretty stable weight but very curvey. So many people love my shape and say i looked awful then or a few years ago wen i lost a little weight. I am a happy, curvey (occasionally overweight) size 14 and proud. Love me for who i am or not at all!!!

definately Curvy. Preferably the "hour glass" shape. Cute face thin, waste and a big behind....I think your new bf just don't want you to become too curvy, but all guys like a girl with something that they can grab and hold on to..hehe

hope i helped you out

If you feel good about yourself the way you are - don't bother losing the weight - it will just be a lot of hassle for yourself ! But if your are unhappy maybe it will be best for you to lose some weight.

The point is -if your happy - dont put yourself through the greif of losing weight - besides a size 14 isnt that big!
