I was playing my keyboard just now when I stumbled upon a tune that sounds really familiar to me, and I can't figure out the name of it. It's:

C, B, C, A, B, G, A, A. all half notes.. common time

I don't know if that's the exact sequence or not, but it sounds familiar. The tune has a feel of impending doom, and I think that it may have been used in a few old horror movies.

lol.. No, not Carol of the Bells. That song doesn't conjure feelings of impending doom in me personally, but we're all different. ^.^

Well it was quoted by Rod Argent on the album Nexus song title "The Coming of Kahoutek" from 1974. I can't recall the attribution but I'm leaning toward either Holst or Greig. It is also used in either a classic Dracula or Frankenstein but I can't recall which.
