I have six pygmy goats. One of them started coughing a while back, so we took her to the vet and started her on antibiotics. She never really stopped coughing, but it slowed a little. Then I noticed another one coughing, so we put her on the antibiotics as well. Now the've both been through it and are still coughing.

It's like a raspy sort of cough and it makes their back legs come off the ground. It's pretty hard to watch.

I can't separate them because one is the "alpha" and the other is the victim of her bullying (and also has two babies at her side) but I don't want the other 4 goats to catch whatever it is.

Please tell me any advice you have on this!

Thanks so much!!!

Check what they are grazing on, it may be irritating their throats/respiratory systems. Make sure they haven't gotten into something like fiberglass insulation etc. Then have a vet or someone like a vet come to you so they can take a look around too. Call your local Extension Office and see if they can help you too.
