When you do push ups, you work your chest and triceps, you work your back when you do different lifting that works your biceps.
Close push ups work your inner chest, wide deals works your lats.
A normal push up should be done with your arms positioned at shoulder width apart, your back straight, and your face looking forward (up). Flex your elbows until your upper arm is parallel to the ground (or beyond) then return to the start. Push up bars can help as can elevating your feet on a chair or something.
Be patient, but if you do them right, your chest will reward you by growing..

The typical push-up is done with your hands shoulder width apart, back flat. You have to go down until your upper arms make at least a 90 degree angle. The way I learned was if someone held their closed fist on the ground you should be able to touch it with your chest. A set of 50 reps is good. If you're doing them right, you probably won't be able to do any more than that.

In the a miliarty school , i've learned alot and one of which is how to do a currect push-up.You can place your hands where every you want , for some doing diamaid push-ups (where you have you hand close together and under your chest) and for some others it's easier to do your push-ups far apart.
For me it's easier to do them far apart. Some people say that diamand push-ups build up more muscle in your upper back and chest.
For the amount , if your just doing push-ups for the hell of it and don;t really have a goal you have to reach , just do 20 a night.I do 25 in between exercise i do , i would go into detail , it's just not important. If you just wanna get more or look more muscler just left more weights and don't do alot of cartio work outs.

You can either keep your hands together or spread out to come down directly under your elbows. Do at least 50 push ups or more. If you really want to get good at push ups join the reserves or go regular forces. I almost for got always look up when doing push ups.

If you want a good work out...yes I'm female...get over it...anyways
Like I was saying...To get a good workout on your arms and back...make a trigle with your hands on the ground and do the push up...This helps with the LOVELY arms...Spread your arm just a bit wider then your shoulders and do them...helps the back...then of course theres the one where your make a fess and do them...I hate those but helps the arms...so...there you go...
do as many as you can with out killing yourself!!!
Good luck with your hotness!!!
