The Web Lead with Chain is definatly strongest. I have a gelding who wouldn't get up and I tryed a cotten lead and it broke. I t was from State Line the same exact one too. The Web Lead however which I also had the same one did not break however. The cotten lead broke at the part where it is sewn and glued to the thing that hooks to the halter. My gelding is about 1800 lbs. I still am using the same Web Lead today and I have had it for about 4 years.

If you want to be on the same level as everyone else, take the flat lead with the chain. Also, if you go to Petsmart, where they sell stateline tack, you can get an inexpensive flat leather lead and chain. I got one there. It will be a little stiff at first, but once you use it a little, and work it through with some leather conditioner, it will be a great investment. :) I love showmanship. fun fun. :)

Flat with a chain. Leather with a chain for the class.

u really dont need a chain unless u have a horse that is heavy in leading or a stud. but i would go with the flat lead. looks more professional

I would definitely go with the flat web lead. Leather show leads come flat, so you can get used to looping them correctly and what not.
