I read that poodles have curly hair because they went into the water a lot, because they were work dogs helping people catch their fowl etc. Does human curly hair come from being in the water too?

Well I was wondering this because I swim a lot. I have straight hair, but I noticed it gets wavy and almost curly if I let it air dry. It sort of springs up.

I don't think its too unreasonable to come to this conclusion. I was reading about poodles and it is widely thought poodle hair became tight and curly to protect them and keep them warm. They were working dogs and they went into the water frequently. If you don't know, why answer "Are you serious?" Thats not really an answer.

i do no longer think of that is from any particular ethnicity. i'm the only individual in my complete family participants (which contain nuclear family participants), who has even remotely curly hair (that is greater wavy than curly, yet nevertheless fairly curly), and that i've got continually questioned why I have been given it while no person else has it lol.

Usually people who come from warmer climates have short curlier hair that keeps them cool, People who live in Colder climates have long straight hair that can keep them warm.

i believe the difference between curly and straight hair comes with follicle shape somewhere along the line, the shape of the hair follicles changed. whether it was from oval to circle or vice versa, i don't know. but, oval-shaped follicles make curly hair and circular ones make straight hair.
