ok someone said to write the questions or what ever so here they are

In chapter wht does the auther focus on jonas pale eyes at the begining and end of the chapter?

Why did jonas take an apple? how was he reprimanded?

'as if one were looking into the clear water on the river, down to the bottom, where things might lurk which hadnt been discovered yet' what might the author be foreshadowing?

familie sin jonas's community have nothing to do withh biological relationships, childbearing, or personal attraction, butrather they would find the creation or families necessary? In other words, why are families needed in jonas's community?

If you'll ask specific questions we'll try to answer. It's a story set in the future where people don't really have any emotions -- they can't even see color because they take some kind of medication. The main character is chosen to be the one who holds the memories of the people. He realizes terrible things that go on around him that other people don't even recognize and it was very moving.

All good answers, xpt rcpeabody's, because there is no way of knowing whether the story is set in the past, present, or future, compared to us. It is a society whose rules are different from ours and a few things work a LITTLE differently, as with any 2 societies.
