i'm writting a research paper on dancing and i was wndering when was dance invented thank you for all the help:)

Dancing has been around since the dawn of mankind. Wherever there were groups of **** sapiens, there was dance. It's like asking when story-telling was invented. Dancing is in our genes. Even babies know how to sway or bounce to a rhythm.

Ouch! I would bet that dancing pre-dates history. There are australian cave paintings depicting ritual dancing that are over 10,000 years old!

I think you'd better narrow down your research to a specific type of dancing. Even then it will be really hard to nail down.

I don't think dancing was "invented" at a specific time and by one person. It evolved over time into different genres.

The owners of a club were remodeling and were too cheap to close down. A dancer was really tired and leaned against one. Then she realized the pole could be used in her act. Probably happened in the 60's.

what type of dance. we know that the native people had thier own tribal dances (rain dances etc) the aboribinees and stuff... the african peoples danced long before white settlers came to these places.

that's really difficult.. just think that even the Egyptians danced.....
