Afar is one of the oldest tribe in Ethiopia actually on Earth. It is located in the northern part of Ethiopia where one of the oldest Human remain found. Scientists believe that the modern human is originated from Afar. Lucy Afar or “Dinknesh” in Amharic found in Afar region. Also Afar holds lots of information about our planet earth. As one scientist said, “going Afar is like going to another planet.. ” Why? Because it is the only deepest place on earth under sea level. Also you will see live volcano 27/7. When you are going to visit Afar, you will feel like you are walking under the ocean floor. That means it is a heaven place for Geologists and volcanologists to study the true nature of our planate with out going deep in to the ocean floor. Also Afar is the home of Dallol which is one of the hottest place on earth. Artele is also another place where you will see and admire how nature has been busy painting its own arts and carving its own sculptures. In this place you will see green, yellow, white, blue and colorful surfaces. These are minerals extracted from the core of earth. These mineral deposited is full of Sulfur, potassium, salt and all other very expensive mineral deposit.

Long time ago, during the First World War, an Italian company was extracting all the sulfur mineral from this region that was used to make bomb during the war. The saddest thing is this company did not pay a dime for the Ethiopian people for more than 50 years. Still Afar has lots of mineral deposit and scientist believes that Afar is the center point where the earth started to crack and formed today’s ocean and 7 continents. Also at this time you can observe the formation of new ocean and the shifting of earth to form another continent.
