I need some help in deciding which final fantasy games I should buy. I was just looking up FF XI and it says 'online' on the cover of the game; do I have to be hooked up to the 'net to play it or can I just play it on the ps2? I'm just confused by all the expansion packs and sequels and the online thing, so if someone could please help me out here, thanks, ^_^

For Final Fantasy XI you have to have a internet connection since its a MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing game)

But all the others are non online. Each Final Fantasy has it's own story (not FFX-2; sequel to FFX)

Best game to start off with is FFX which got me into the series....great game and i'm sure you will love it. After that check out FFXII and maybe FFVII.

I thought Final Fantasy XI you had to have an Internet connection for because you are playing with other on-line players. If you've never played Final Fantasy before then I would recommend first buying Final Fantasy VII which was for the PS1 but should work on PS2 (you might be able to find it in pawnshops or in stores that sell old and used software). Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X2 are probably the 2 best and latest of the non-on-line Final Fantasy games for the PS2.

Final Fantasy XI (FFXI) is online ONLY you must have good internet or u will constantly disconnect or lag trust me i had really slow dial-up and i was lagging every 10seconds. it is really good but it only works for the XBox360, PS2 (fat version) or the PC. the cheapest 1 is the PC (i think) but i have for PS2. i think it is a little easier on PS2 all u have to do is buy a USB keyboard (wireless is better) and hook that up. if u play on PC u have to use the keyboard to move instead of like on the PS2 u can use the controller to move it is very addicting tho so make sure u talk to ppl offline and not just playing 24/7.

if u wanna play final fantasy....DO NOT play FFXI its a big waste of time/money/and other stuff....

i did over a summer....and im sorry everytime i think about it

but if u want to....u need a connection and a good day to just INSTALL it....

the reason its so expensive is b/c it comes with a HDD<--internet hook-up

the expansions are usually for higher level players so at first dont even worry about em

play FF7 or 8
FFX <--best
and FFX-2 if u like X
i just rented FF12 and its pretty good so far(i like hust started)

Final Fantasy 12 is a good game. No times waiting for turns (sort of), more freedom to move around, and much, much longer and somewhat a little more complicated. I'm almost done with it and so far it's good.

um... definetily get FF 12. It's a really good game with an awesome story line and a very cool and unique fighting style.( I recommend getting the strategy guide if you get it. VERY EXTENSIVE GAMEPLAY.)

You don't have to be linked to the internet, and it is a highly addictive game!!! kiss good bye to any life you might have if you buy it!!! Last one we bought wasFF dirge of cerberus - don't bother!!

Good luck and have many many many hours happy gaming.
