I recently got a new washer and since then...I have to be unable to run my washer and dryer at the same time cause it trips the circuit breaker..but sometimes when I just run the washer it will stop in the middle of a cycle and then it will smell like something is burning..that's the best I can describe the smell. What is causing all this? could it be my new washer? the circuit breaker? PLz someone who really would know can you give me any anwsers cause this is really getting annoying and frustrating.

Unless your dryer runs on 120V, the two appliances should not affect each other. Check the circuit breaker capacity. It should be 20-amps. If it is only a 15-amp breaker, you really should have a new appliance circuit installed with 12-gauge copper wire and a 20-amp breaker.

Assuming the old washer didn't cause any problems I would start by checking with the place you bought the washer to see if you have the right cord for your washer. Washers don't always come with the unit when you buy them. There bought separately.

If the cord is the correct one you may need to replace the outlet or the outlet isn't powerful enough to handle the new washer. Washers and dryers consume lots lot of power and will not run correctly on standard outlets. I would consult a certified electrician on this one just to be safe.

Also, just a side note make sure you remove the 2-4 metal screw plugs from the back. These are there just for shipping purposes. If the washer starts to go crazy during the spin cycle and you will know what I mean if this happens then this tip will solve that as well.

You seem to have an electrical issue in your home. The washer and dryer SHOULD NOT be running on the same curcuit to begin with. If it is your own home, you need to have an electrician check this out. You should have a seperate (large) plug for the dryer (240v). This plug would also have its own circuit breaker. The washer would plug into a standard 110 outlet.

Sounds to me like there is an issue with the washer that is causing it to draw too much current. If you had a washer on the same circuit before and it didn't cause a problem a new one shouldn't. It could possibly be that something that was attached to the machine to prevent damage during shipment wasn't removed...
