It all comes down to genetics and body type. Some people are naturally finer boned and some are bigger boned and prone to heavier weight. Those people who are bugging you are probably jealous that you're skinny. As long as you are healthy, there is nothing wrong with being skinny. You're also still growing and you will probably put on more weight as you grow older and get into your early 20's. It happened to all my skinny girlfriends from high school (not that they're fat now or anything, they just gained more weight).
It's really none of their business, anyway, right? They also might be trying to get a rise out of you, or a bad reaction. Don't give it to them! If you just shrug it off and act cool about it, show it doesn't bother you, and deny them a reaction then that's the end of that. Keep in mind that some people might be pointing your thinness out to you because they are genuinely concerned about your health. Thank them for their concern and assure them that you and your doctor have discussed it and you are healthy and nothing is wrong with you.
Love who you are. You are blessed to have friends that like you for who you are. Take some advice from someone who survived high school popularity contests...as soon as school is over, the contests are pretty much over. Popularity contests are STUPID and the truly wise ones are those who can see beyond the superficiality to the true person underneath. In the end, that's what really counts. Not how you look, but who you are as a person.

There is nothing wrong with being skinny. You need to toughen up though. What these people are doing is just so rude and seriously thoughtless! I will say that usually people who do that are probably trying to pay you a compliment as back handed as it may be. But the truth is that you are going to experience a lot of that in life- most people do. You can't let what other thoughtless people say about you get to you! Don't base your self worth on what other people think. Just take pride in knowing the beautiful, smart, sensetive person you are.

As long as you are healthy, I wouldn't worry about it. I am 29, 5'4" and 98lbs, and that's after 2 kids. Your metabolism depends on the weight you gain, if any. I have people say I am skinny also, but like I tell them, I am a healthy skinny. Maybe they are just jealous of you because they can't get as skinny as you???

As long as you're healthy and happy who cares what other people think. As for being too skinny that depends on what height to weight ratio is for a person of your size, 5'5"@111lbs sounds about right. Ask your doctor if you're the right weight. I copied a link for you that shows that you're the correct weight. http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/adult_BMI/english_bmi_calculator/results_normal.htm?pounds=111&inches=65

Well Liza, those who laugh last laugh the longest. When you get older your metabolism will slow down and you will fill out some. You're going to be hot and your tormentors will be overweight.
