Use can use MediaMonkey. This is a great alternative to Itunes or windows media player. It says that it is compatible with the ipod also. You should try it.

Well first you need itunes because you have an ipod(idiots who answer above are wrong you don't have to buy music from itunes you can still use itunes and limewire(illegal anyway)!! itunes is the software use to put music on the ipod just ignore the itunes store that comes with itunes) Second check the apple website to make sure you have either windows 2000 or Xp and or Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later. If you have those and still can't download itunes, make sure the pop-up blocker is not on if the download box doesn't show. If not working still go to the forums for itunes and they can help see below

Buy the CD's you want and don't use iTunes. As iTunes is only a digital music service where you can buy songs or albums. It is easier to buy the CD's you want instead of downloading iTunes.

i have limewire its ez and free.. but if u have a ipod u have to download the i tunes...
