I'm going to Florida in May. Either Tampa or St. Petersburg and I was wondering what the best (cheap) hotel would be to stay at close to a good beach and near an area where there is a lot going on at night. Also, only 18+ nightlife, not 21+. Thanks!

I love the Gulf side of Florida. May rates are still pretty high...you can probably find better prices in St. Pete, but more nightlife in Tampa. Clearwater is a little city right across the bay from tampa (20 mins. from Tampa/St. Pete airport) with the most fabulous, not crowded white sand beaches. Some nightlife on the beach. Check it out. Sorry, no specific hotel suggestions.
