hmmm...
I think i will plan my day this way...
to save the time...i choose the route of the same mrt(train) route line...NORTH EAST LINE
I will go to chinatown(chinatown station) for dim sum/or the hawker in the morning...then walk around to see the old chinese building structure...
then head to little india(Little India Station) for another culture experience...and try the india food there like the prata and curry
then go to vivo city(HarbourFront Station) for alittle shopping(the new shopping centre)
then go sentosa(can get there from vivo city by taking monorail @S$3 or try the cable car which you can get there from vivo city) for alittle sightseeing and the Musical Fountain show...
then have dinner at cafe del mar(siloso beach in sentosa) and enjoy the sun set...
then head to st jame's power station(just beside vivo city) to chill out abit to end the day

If you take SQ flight, take free ride SQ hop in Singapore. Check the website. Actually Singapore is small country, you can enjoy maximize within 1 day only. Take MRT (subway) and go out in every inter exchange station like City Hall, Ochard, Bugis, Raffles, China town, Little India. Walk around the subway station is enough for you to maximize Singapore (food, sights, etc).
If you have more time, flying down to Indonesia, it is much2 better than Singapore. I will rate it 100 times much beautiful, sights, food, etc. And also much2 cheaper.

Hard to do too much in one day but be sure to get to East Coast Park and eat some famous SIngapore Chilli Crab. Truly an experience! Also, a Sling at Raffles would be worth the historical trip! Have fun!
