the system of divide and conquer: it keeps us from uniting. so we are too busy fighting each other instead of fighting (together) for ourselves.

Depends on the Mexicans and the African-Americans. This is not an issue that can be generalized, or brushed with a wide brush.

I grew up in Los Angeles among Mexicans, and now live in northern California, bay area, where the majority is individuals of Mexican and other Latin ancestry. I treat others the way in which I want to be treated, i.e., with respect, I also speak and understand some Spanish (my father spoke it fluently), and have not encountered any difficulties.

I'm certain there are some Mexican individual that feel that way, but then other ethnicities also harbor those feelings. I keep away from anyone like that!

I know, I go to a school where mostly everyone is Hispanic(mostly Mexicans) and then the second of the majority are blacks. This happens everyday in the school. Alot of the Latinos don't like the blacks because a majority of them(I'm not racist but this is what happens) are rude or make fun of the Mexicans and act superior. this mostly happens with the girls though. And most of the time the Latinos don't do anything about it so it just keeps going on and on. Not all the black people in the school are like that its just that most of them all know each other and therefore are similar in behavior. Its sad but there's nothing you can do about it.

I don't know why you feel we all do, I'm sure you have good reasons but I'm mexican and I don't dislike nor disrespect anyone. I guess it depends on how you were brought up. Maybe they've had many bad experiences with them and are stereotyping. There aren't any black people (maybe a handful) in Mexico and you know how people are about attacking what they are unfamiliar with. But I hope you don't stereotype everyone on account of a few. I had some guy come look for me to tell me that I had vandalized his apt. and since I was the only mexican he knew that it must've been me! Unbelievable.

I personally wouldn't agree on my behalf. But most do because they see it as African Americans try to take the so called "spot light" on who has suffered more.

No they don't. I don't have any Hispanic friends, but I do talk to some. I've never had a Hispanic show animosity towards me. WTF?
