My '95 toyota corolla stalls out when it accelerates. There is a burnt hole in the distributor coil. could that be the problem? sometimes it starts stalling without accelerating, and when i try to rev the engine some white smoke comes out of the tailpipe. maybe a head gasket too?

Sounds like it should have its computer codes read and then have a tune up too. None of the things are good. You are not saving money by not fixing the items. You are driving the car to a premature death. Repair is usually cheaper than replacement.

ok, that burned spot indicates, that your spark,is leaking. It is jumping spots that it is not supposed to.that coil must be replaced. that is causing your stall outs.

as for possable blown head gasket? start engine. let it idle and warm up a bit. care fully start to remove the radiater cap.coolant flying out under a lot of pressure, or traces of oil in the coolant, mean a blown gasket some ware

It sounds like your coil is bad. The white smoke is probably because it floods out when it stalls. I'd replace the coil first and see what happens.
