A , because with B, I wouldn't be carrying a gun, and theres a possibility if I try and shoot him, he might kill the hostage instead before he goes, which wouldn't accomplish anything. C, would be incorrect, because if I were to shoot the hostage, an innocent individual would die where afterwards, the criminal would end up more than likely try to turn me into his next victim.

let them go becuase you don't really know for sure if it is the bad guy who has the gun. Could actually be that the bad guy is the one being held at gun point to make it LOOK like he is the one that is the hostage. Then you better call 911

If I can get close enough and eye contact is lost for a split second, I could probably disarm the abductor.
