Hi Tammy. There are lot of factors that would help slowing down your internet connection. If you're using dial-up, that could be a big reason why. If you have a high-speed connection (DSL or cable) and your connection is still slow, you might have a slow computer which needs to be upgraded ( increasing memory or putting a better video card). You also might have a lot of programs running at the same time which pulls the PC's performance down so as the internet. Try to close programs you dont use. If you are using softwares to download movies or musics, that could be affect the browsing as well. You can also scan your computer from viruses. You can also do one thing to help you speed up your internet up to 20% faster.
just do this steps :
click start --> run
type gpedit.msc press enter
under the Local Computer Policy click
administrative --> network --> Qos Packet -->
at the right side open Limit reservable bandwidth choose Enable, set Bandwidth limit to Zero %
press apply then OK.. done..! retest your internet connection
for more info.. in limit reservable bandwidth
click Explain.. read and you will understand..
heads-up:
windows reserv 20% badwidth for him to update.. that
is a big factor already..Enjoy

Try deleteing your temporary internet files. Go to tools, internet options, then properties. Erase temporary internet files. This is a file or files with all the web pages you have ever visited. Deleteing that may speed up your system.

Change, call the telephone co. and have them put a D.S.L. in for you. You'll have to pay a monthly rental of around $26.00 but its worth it, you'll have high speed internet after they install it free. You can buy it to with a 3 year warrantee.

If your memory in your computer is low, you may want to add more memory. That may speed the connection up.
