I'm not ADD or anything, but I just can't seem to sit still without wiggling my foot. Is this maybe just a way of my body burning off extra energy? Thanks!

It is definitlly Restless Legs Syndrom. Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a condition in which your legs feel extremely uncomfortable while you're sitting or lying down. It usually makes you feel like getting up and moving around. When you do so, the unpleasant feeling of restless legs syndrome goes away.

People typically describe the unpleasant sensations of restless legs syndrome as "deep-seated, creeping, crawling, jittery, tingling, burning or aching" feelings in their calves, thighs, feet or arms. Sometimes the sensations seem to defy description. People usually don't describe the condition as a muscle cramp or numbness.
In many cases, no known cause for restless legs syndrome exists. Researchers suspect the condition may be due to an imbalance of the brain chemical dopamine. This chemical sends messages to control muscle movement.

Restless legs syndrome runs in families in up to half of people with RLS, especially if the condition started at an early age. Researchers have identified sites on the chromosomes where genes for RLS may be present.

Stress tends to worsen the symptoms of RLS.

Well, I hope this helps. At least maybe you will be able to give a name to it. But definitlly you should visit a doctor to confirm it.

All the best!

It is a way to burn off extra energy. I have ADD and I move my leg up and down to get rid of the excess energy I have, or else I would have to run around the room like a maniac. lol! It is also good to, because you are burning a couple extra calories as well!!

Yeah, in basic terms a habit. some those with OCD will faucet their foot and count selection to a definite selection, then initiate another time, yet maximum people who shake their foot or swing it purely have a habit...possibly because of the fact of anxiety or impatience, anxiety, and so on.

If this has been going on for a long period of time I would suggest O.C.D. Obsessive Complusive Disorder. Look into it.
