I don't take your question as demeaning but let me offer you an example. Say you don't believe that you should eat meat and your friend does, do you stop being friends because they eat meat?
Look, if you don't agree with homosexuality - so what. Just be a good friend and don't preach your beliefs to someone that doesn't want to hear it. Your friend will respect you.
Good luck

You can be friends with anyone you want. It's really up to you, because I don't think your gay friend is going to have a problem with you being born Straight.
My best friend in the whole world is a guy, and he doesn't care at all that i'm gay. In a religious sense, he disagrees, from what he says, but he in no way disagrees with who I am, or how I want to be. He's actually excited for me, (this is like just a month new to him.. and everyone!!!)
Some advice.... I don't know how most gay people are with their straight friends, but It's cool when someone seems comfortable enough to ask me questions that I would ask them.

I assume you are talking about the promiscuous stereotype out there. If you are talking about that, that I can happily say that many people gay or straight don't agree with that lifestyle. If you just don't approve of men having sex with men, then you would have a hard time being friends with a gay man.
It is important to mention that if you don't like the stereotype, that you should be against all promiscuous people, and not just gay promiscuous people, and make sure that people understand your position.

Your right, there are a few, and I mean A FEW where it is a choice. But for 98-99% of us it is not a choice. Period.
So, no, I would not want you for my friend. For the simple reason that I would feel you always looked down or "judged me as inferior" to yourself or another group of people, and if you were my friend you would "love and accept me for who I am." And if you don't accept my life, then you DON'T ACCEPT ME. Your simply be "kind" (in your way) and thinking your better and liking someone "despite who they really are" and personally I don't need that cr*p in my life.

It certainly is. Some of the nicest people I know are gays. They know I am not...I know they are. We enjoy each other as friends and the subject never even comes up. Their choice of sexual behavior is none of my business nor mine theirs.

It is possible, the person may not be one of your closer friends if you do not accept their lifestyle

i would say you couldnt be good friends with someone if you disagree with their sexuality. BUT, if you were willing to look past that, and like them for who they are instead of their sexual preferences, then yes.

You don't have to agree with something, in order to accept it. You should like your friend for who he/she is, not their sexual orientation.
As long as they aren't forcing their sexuality down your throat, then there shouldn't be a problem.

i will just say that you'll probably not be the closest friends, but you should always be nice to everyone, no matter what.everyone could learn to be a little more excepting.
