And so you should be sacked. There's a time and a place to play with your 'mini missile launcher'. lol

Sounds like you want to get your job back. In which case you need to grovel. But I imagine the boss doesn't want this happening all the time, so has made an example of you so that other people don't copy. In which case the boss is only likely to let you back if you grovel in such a degrading, sickening, and public manner that everyone else is put off copying to the same extent that they would be put off by the sacking. In brief, I suggest you look for another job.

And having looked at the thing on ebay. I'm not surprised at your boss's reaction. That thing could have gone in someone's eye. If your boss doesn't stop this activity dead, he or she is likely to face a lawsuit in future when some idiot like you misses the person you're amining at and blinds an unexpected co-worker. I applaud your boss's action. I have absolutely no sympathy for you whatsoever.

Suspended or sacked?
If you have been suspended then your company should do a investigation, where both parties will have there say, you may be suspended while this go’s on
You will then be invited to a meeting, If the action was seen as intentional or seen as being malice then more and likely you will be sacked, If the action is seen as accidental, un-intentional , lack of awareness/training, then you may get off or should get a warning not to do it again.
If your record shows that you have received warning for similar and you still did it then it will be seen as intentional.
Either way the law states that your company must, inform – invite – discuss, before any action is taken otherwise it illegal.

Elf an'Safety innit.
The boss would be looking at a large fine,at least, if the other worker suffered a reportable injury.
Reportable injury means the worker had to take 3 or more days off work.
Sensible boss...covering his backside.
If you in a union, you could ask them...but the unions are committed to elf an' safety...so you may not get any luck with them.

He's either done it to make an example of you, or because those pellets are very dangerous, & could've gone in his eye. You could try appealing, but unless your colleague is in a forgiving mood, you may find that you have to look for another job.

if u work in a professional environment then it was childish and your suspension was justified

otherwise what does your shot colleague say
if he says 'no harm done' u could possibly get off the hook
but if u did it to intimidate, bully or to embarass him
then u deserve what u got

either way appealing wont do u much

it will depend on the culture of the job

where I worked in IBM they shot foam missles at eachother all the time

some people (aka prudes with no real lives to speak ofI) might take it as disrespectful and if your gunna shoot ya gotta be prepared to face the music

Just say sorry and resign from your job. Do you think they will miss you ?
