I do not take criticism well. I beat myself up when I get it. I do not strive for perfection but when someone critisizes me it is like they broke through the covering I where. I am not good expressing myself and I do not let much in. Criticism gets me because showing my imperfections really scares me. I know were not all perfect but I still feel this way.
ADVISE PLEASE!!!!!!

Criticsm may be one of two things...A simple ploy to assist you in improving a character defect or physical shortcoming for your own good..or a method the critic employs to degrade you to make themselves feel better. The trick is..to become skilled in figuring out which one you are experiencing at any given moment.

I am exactly the same way! What advice would make you feel different? I am sensitive and I want to be liked and loved. I'm out here too. Some of us are sensitive. I Take criticism well, but then when I am alone I Get Upset!! Who loves criticism? What do you think I should do about that? I am not an actress and even an actress has feelings at some Point! Were you criticized a lot when you were little? Or maybe you are a perfectionist? Cut yourself some slack. There's enough room in this world for you too. @ 8-) YEAH! I CAME RIGHT BACK! LISTEN TO THE GUY SITTING ON MY HEAD!! He's 100% Right!! Oh And The Lady And The Guy Above Her too!!

Oh, boy, this one hits me right where I live! I've struggled with this for years. I think, though, if you force yourself to acknowledge some of these things, after a while you'll realize that the roof didn't cave in and the sun came up.

The next time someone criticizes you, just say, "You know, you might be right. I'll have to work on that." Then change the subject.

I do have to make one caveat: If there is someone close to you who is constantly criticizing, that is a completely different matter. That is called ABUSE, and you should not just sit still for that.

If it's constructive criticism.. learn from it.. We/ve all been through it.. You take it personal.. One of your parents probably expected perfection I would assume.. Don't beat yourself up. So many successful people in this world who have been through the same thing.. Part of growing up;.. Can you imagine going through basic training like so many young recruits do?? they brow beat the s.. out of them.. It toughens some of them up really good.. maybe too good.. lol Good luck!

Depends... ask yourself is it true... if it is cool... an opportunity to improve...

if not, ha, take advantage of that person who perceives a weakness that is not really there.
