I think tobacco should be totally illegal!

Pros: People won't die from tobacco, they won't spend uselessly huge amounts of money on cigarettes, BUTTLOADS of other reasons.

Cons: People will be kind of stressed out for a little bit.

Other than excluding the sale to minors, I think the government should let the free markets work. Afterall, doesn't the concept of "freedom" underpin the American myth? If people choose to breathe toxic smoke, they should be free to do so.

Why doesn't the government regulate walking up and down stairs? Plenty of people are injured by that activity. Maybe they should ban skydiving, too. Since most homicides, car accidents, muggings, etc. happen at night, maybe we should have a national 8:00 p.m. curfew.

My point with the above-examples is that it is ridiculous for George Bush and Nancy Pelosi to run any aspect of my life that does not interfere with the rights of others.

Sure! That would open up a whole new black market and the government could add to the budget of the DEA.
