myspace is like a place to share personal info, so i don't recommed young adults to go on there. there are a lot of online predators still at large and it would be unsafe for a 14 year old to get on there. anyways, myspace is just a waste of time; i mean what does one achieve on myspace?

No According to MySpace the youngest you can be is 18. I don't know if you have been seeing the news lately but there have been some hinky things going on with young kids getting a profile on MySpace and getting hooked up with the wrong people...

I have a son in this demographic and, after a lot of thought, we decided not to permit him to have myspace. You have to be firm because many parents allow their kids to have an account and this creates a lot of peer pressure. We believe that it is very difficult to ensure that a 12 or 13 year old will be cautious enough about not posting private information. If you decide to go ahead, please make sure that you (the parent) are signed up as a friend and can monitor the page on a regular basis. Also establish guidelines about what information can be posted.

Like many others, I don't recommend it, although it is popular among the younger crowd. MySpace has done a better job about keeping pedophiles from accessing profiles belonging to minors, but there's no fool-proof method in doing so. My suggestion would be to monitor their profiles, friends lists, etc. It seems like invasion of their privacy, but ultimately, you as a parent are responsible for their safety, both offline and online.

NO. Are you kidding. It is far too sophisticated and wild. I know half the things people say are probably not true but kids are very impressionable, they may think so and then act out themselves. Bad examples, not good for the very young.

In my opinion it's not. I think Dateline catches predators through there with fake accounts. There is even a man on there who was realeased from prison who raped and murdered a child in the 1980's.
