Maybe not the most depressing but how about "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division?

Also "Gloomy Sunday" by Billie Holiday (I know that's probably before your time, it's from the 40's ) Another one by her that's depressing is "Strange Fruit" which was about a lynching. Now it's hard to come up with a song that's more depressing than that!

"The Last Song" by Elton John. The song is available on his album The One.

Also, "All by Myself" by Eric Carmen. That has got to be one of the most--if not THE most depressing song of all time.
