At a recent press conference, President Bush was asked about sanctions against Iran. Noticeably nervous, twitchy, and hesitating awkwardly, he responded by saying, "Money . . . trumps . . . peace. . . sometimes." And then he tried to explain. To me (and lots of other people) his explanation made absolutely no sense. Perhaps his comment had a hidden meaning?

ULTIMATE faux pas? Nah, this is just one more in a LONG series of them.

Although I didnt see this press conference, I was struck by how hesitant Bush sounded in the State of the Union address. He didn't sound Presidential at all. if this was any indication of how he sounded at this Press Conference, then the next two years in the US are going to be some bumpy times. When a President can no longer inspire confidence in his citizens (and Bush cannot for over 70% of us), why would we keep him around? Fear of putting Cheney in charge?

It sounds like he was saying that war profiteering was more important than peace.
