When I was an optician, I once had a lawyer come in and buy four totally different pairs of glasses all in the same prescription. I asked him why he wanted so many and he told me it was so that he could appear to look more mature or playful or serious or intelligent, depending on which judge he was before. So yes, if you choose right, glasses can add to or detract from your appearance even to the point of making you seem more intelligent.
Just so you know, though, the people that impress me as seeming to be very intelligent are the ones that listen very intently to what is being said and then keep their answers short and to the point.

Nope...I have been wearing glasses since the fourth grade because I am blind as a bat without them! Ha ha. I never understood the glasses fad that went on when I was in middle school.....I mean...they were actually selling glasses with non-prescription lenses everywhere because they had become a fashion must have accessory. It doesn't matter how you look...once you open your mouth and begin speaking...if you are...or are not intelligent will become readily apparent.

I don't normally wear glasses but I actually intended to make a photo with glasses for a book presentation thinking I look more intellectual. Until now I haven't decided yet how to be that picture. I wanted to inspire from Hillary Clinton's cover book. Do you think blondes get more literary credit?

No, I never wear glasses just to appear more intelligent. I always wear glasses because they are prescription.

I wear both contacts and glasses. I must say I hate wearing glasses, and only do so when I have to. But glasses do make you look more sophisticated.

Well, I thought it would make me look more intellegent, but i never worn them because of that, but my sisters bought those fake glasses because she wanted be to think she is smart. Know she actually has glasses and she hates wearing them and she wears contacts now.

I've worn sunglasses to appear cooler, but never glasses to appear more intellegent. I'm smart enough without needing the glasses to make me "look" smart.

I've worn glasses since the sixth grade. I wish I could afford laser eye surgery. So absolutely not.
