Well, I honestly think that the entire country benefited from the disaster. It was a nice little bit of chaos there for a while, and the destruction was unspeakable; but it united the country in the face of someone who honestly wishes to destroy us -- and may have the means to do so.

It also woke us up out of our cushy happiness that had slowly built up since the end of the Cold War: before September 11th, this country believed it was invincible. For a time after 9/11, we knew that we could be hurt and we knew the only way to prevent that was to stick together. Now that we've gone almost five and a half years without another major attack, we're going back into the complacent stage; the terrorists are waiting for us to sink completely back into this before they attack again. This false sense of security is only augmented by so many people arguing and disagreeing over political trivia. We're going to be hit again, and I don't think we'll be able to fully recover if we keep going the way we are now.

The terrorists benefitted and all the Republicans that got contracts to do security jobs or defense contracts have gotten rich. Halliburton charged $600 a gallon for gas in Iraq. Cheney is getting very rich.

clearly bushs adminstration.

some could argue that bush needed exactly that sort of thing to secure himself a second term.

the terrorists behind the attacks are benfiting as well. For instead of finding those responsible, and when there was no connection between IRAQ and Al Queda, but Bush decided to invade IRAQ anyways, under false intel his administration manipulated, it actually has strengthened the terrorists infrastructure

so bush and the terrorists both benefited.
Are they one in the same, especially when we did equip and train al queda a few years back?

its clear out troops didnt benefit, and arent benefiting.
our country isnt benefiting
and our position in foreign relations isnt benefiting.

But bush and the terrorist are..oh yeah and the american civilian contractor coprorations are too ...benefiting billions.

So the real question is with bush and terrorists and contractors that are loyal to bush benefiting, are they one in the same?

Its hard to say.

Yes people, in this country as well as internationally, have benefited from it, however the benefits definitely do not outweigh the tragedy and destruction.

Not us! Security companies, war profiteers, politicians that use 9/11 all benefit. Keep blaming the terrorists and maybe one day you'll be able to prove it. lmao 9/11 was a total inside job. Nice try BBC.

I have no idea, but I was almost killed at World Trade Center in 1993. So I can not agree in any case with those actions.

If anything positive can come from it--which is a stretch--I think it helped people realize what is important in life. It also helped us realize that tomorrow is not promised and we need to make sure to live accordingly. It also showed us that we are vulnerable and need to raise our awarreness and prevention. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

George Bush did. The only reason his approval rating remained high for as long as it did was because of 9/11 and the war he started in Iraq, claiming it had something to do with 9/11.
