Fair skin. If you must tan at least use an SPF 30 and opt for a slower tan to develop. Also cover up with a big floppy hat & sunglasses to protect the face. Skin melanomas are far too common now!

Someone with naturally tanned skin, or olive skin looks really good. I hate having pale skin, wish I could get a good tan, but I just go red. I'm not a fan of orange people and all the fake stuff really, looking natural is always better.

I'm naturally very fair...I love to tan tho...being tan makes you feel more self confident, especially in tanks and tub tops. Also, being tan can hide cellulite too. Believe me, I tanned a lot last year using the tanning bed and I haven't tanned since August and I am back to my normal complexion. Remember if you tan, use protection for your face or put the towel over your face because thats where you age the quickest!

For myself I love a tan but not all the hassle that comes with getting 1 (for those of us who r naturally fair)such as:skin cancer; streaky freaky and orange self tanners;dry and aged looking skin;sun spots and premature wrinkles....
But a man on the other hand if we r talkin what i am attracted to........i luuuuuuuuuuuuuv me some tan skin but only if it is natural and he don't go to a tanning bed(that's too prissy 4 a man that I would like)

It is unhealthy for your skin for you to tan. The only safe tan is tan in a can. Therefore, I've always opted for my fair skin instead of being tan. 400 years ago the fairer your skin, the more beautiful you were considered.

Keep it natural, don't go for tan if you have fair skin, just stick with the natural color....it looks better in the long run.

I'm afraid I'm a sun worshipper, and go a lovely dark olive in the sun almost instantly.
However when I'm pale in the winter I'm very pale, but I like it.
I'm lucky cos I also have incredibly good skin by some fluke of nature. I should be starting to look after it at my age, but I forget cos it's naturally clear and firm. I'll probably regret not doing something while I could have done when I'm older though!
So I guess for me it would have to be both! I like trying to make the most of what I already have, so it can be fun to have a change :)
In the opposite sex I have to say I really don't mind. "Come as you are" is my motto!
