why are you having sex one week after giving birth...

For months after giving birth, your hormonal cycle can be all out of whack from what it used to be, so you really can't trust timing your cycle as a form of birth control.

Also, any time you have intercourse, you run the risk of getting pregnant. No birth control is 100% effective except abstinance. I'm not some abstinance advocate or anything, I'm just saying that's how it is, and your doctor would agree with me. If you have sex, you may get pregnant. Breastfeeding MAY make you LESS likely to get pregnant, but it is not birth control.

Having given birth to 4 babies, I can not imagine having sex as soon as one week after giving birth (OUCH!). However, if a woman has sex one week after giving birth and has begun to ovulate that soon, then, yes, it is possible to get pregnant. Breastfeeding does often delay ovulation, but it is not a guarantee. The only 100% guaranteed way not to get pregnant is not to have sex.

Yes it it...breastfeeding is not a good form of birth control. Women are most fertile after giving birth

I do believe it is physically possible but you aren't supposed to be having vaginal intercourse that soon after having a baby..unless ya had a c-section- you risk infection as your femme parts have not healed very well yet- and breastfeeding has nothing to do with it..women can and often do get pregnant while breastfeeding because they have some misconception that they can't..yes pun intended

highly unlikely since your bleeding very heavy and are still very sore from the birth. this is why you are supposed to listen to your doctor no sex for 6 weeks. they say that for a few reasons the main being your body has been through a trauma and needs to heal call your doctor for an appointment to be tested and be checked for infection and damage

If you've just given birth you shouldn't even be having sex for at least six weeks! Give yourself time to heal inside!

Highly unlikely. If a pregnancy is not desired, using breast-feeding as a method of birth control is not advised.
