I have a question. My husband recently stop smoking weed for good so that we could try to conceive a child. How long should we wait for it to leave his system before we start trying. We know that while he is smoking we cannot conceive.
SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE!!

To Gil first: Surgeon heh? Don't even know your **** buddy. Weed only reduce the amount of sperms generated per day. Now, if SHE smoked weed, then yes, there would be problem because the THC goes in the bloodstream and goes through the baby. Just like smoking cigarettes, some babies are born already addicted to cigarettes and they have to detoxify them.

Back to answer:
It should affect in no way how the baby will develop. Only decrease the chance of you getting pregnant, 'cause pot kills sperms. Oh and it's true about the 28 days thing, takes a month for sperm to go back to normal quantity.

My fiance smokes all the time. He has since he was around 13 and he's 37. He never stopped smoking and has 3 healthy children. All of whom have no physical defects and are extremely intelligent. You can start trying ASAP.... and yes you can conceive while hes smoking.... my daughter is proof.

I think it takes 30 days to get out of your system. However, I don't know anything about how weed does or doesn't affect sperm. In any case, it's a safe & wise decision to stop before a baby gets involved, so good for you guys. A lot of people wouldn't bother.

The weed does take a while to leave his system. but, there is one thing that weed it makes his sperm count really low. and makes it really hard for u to concieve a baby. and some times it can have a defect and the can weed makes his sperm unhealthy. I know this because i asks alot of questions when it comes down to my pregnancy and on doctors visits.

I'm a surgeon and I should know this. It could really change the status of your birth (remember this is coming from a surgeon). The baby could be born with brain disorders or even more . Maybe you shouldn't have sex anymore because it can also have effects on you and the baby.

In men, marijuana decreases testosterone, sperm count, and potency. (not to mention brain cells that NEVER grow back)
