Well, you can't really force yourself to be known. you know that. but what you can do is make you sure be polite and respectful to everyone you meet, as these will be your future contacts and in a creative industry as competitive and fickle about fashion it is all about who you know, more so than what you know. the other thing that counts is your hardwork. let your passion show through for everything that you do. And then hopefully, it's really through luck as well, that you can get your break. but don't depend on luck, depend on yourself to to network and always improve and thats all you can do really. do you also read about the biographies of famous fashion designers? I would be surprised if you didn't, or if you were truly uninterested about how the famous fashion designers got their start. or if you don't even know many of the famous fashion designers. you don't get to the top wihtout being heavily immersed and aware of whats been done, because who knows. someone else will probably be out there doing something similar to what you're doing, or maybe it's been done before. either way, read up a lot about other fashion designers and their work. it's one way to get better. and maybe you would not ask this question if you read up about coco chanel or alannah hill, and realize they didn't get their fame overnight. alannah just worked for years as clothing assistant...and successs was just not handed on a platter. so basically, you become a known fashion designer, by being a good designer, and a good designer or a great designer, is someone who always read up about their craft, about industry, always looking for more, always always just trying to improve and never giving up. in addition to good manners. because when you get to the top, you might treat some ppl in not the best way possible. but everybody who goes to the top, will also somehow come back down. as some one else will take the spotlight. and you will meet those same pple you did not treat right, on the way down.
