Jeeves is a character from a british comedy, "Jeeves and Wooster". Actually Wooster is Hugh Laurie (HOUSE, M.D.) and Jeeves is his butler in the show. He gained a reputation for being the "go to" guy so that is why the search engine is called Ask Jeeves....

jeeves is supposed to be a butler who is highly intelligent and gives good advice. it was supposed to give personality to the idea that "ask jeeves" takes in full questions. i thought it was a cute idea. its too bad they dont use him anymore.
