The length of the day and year is relatively constant, if that is what you are asking.
a day is 24 hours, the time it takes the earth to rotate. the day was 25 hours or more, the earth would heat up a bit more as it faces the sun and would cool longer at night when it faces away. But that does not happen.
the year was longer than the current 365.25 days (the time of revolution around the sun), the summers would be hotter and the winters colder since the northern hemisphere would face the sun a longer time and same for the southern hemisphere

I think the question should be upside down: how does earth affects the lenght of day? Because the legngth of day depends on the time earth takes to make a whole turn on its axis. This is now around 24 hrs but the earth is slowing down so day (in a few million years) will have longer days. And a year is the time earth takes to turn around the sun, that is around 365 days. Have a nice day :)

The length of the day has a huge impact on the local population. When the days are getting longer, it is Spring and time to plant. When the days are longest, it is summer and time to go swimming naked.
As the days get shorter, it is Fall and time to harvest. When the days are shortest, it is winter.
