Um, ok well I'm a freshman and I'm in Jv Drill at my high school, i love to dance but the problem is I'm having trouble with my axles and splits .
The problem with my axles is I just cant seem to do them right, like I have trouble with turning and pulling up my leg to jump high.
With my splits I cant get them and for Deb (varsity) tryouts which are like a month away and for auditions we are required to sit in them for 2 minutes and i can barely sit in them for 10 seconds, and I'm having trouble motivating myself to stretch everyday and practice.
Please help being a Deb means alot to me, any advice?

A good way to get your splits is to lie on your back and extend one leg keeping both hips on the floor while your other leg is bent. Then bring the extended leg in towards the chest hold it for a while and when you extend it again bring it just a tad bit higher. Repeat this bringing it slightly higher each time. Hold each leg extension for one minute. Use your hands to help pull your leg higher but make sure that your hips and back stay down and that you are in correct alighnment. Also, another really good stretch is the wall stretch. Lie on your back facing a wall and push your pelvis against the wall. Your legs should be on the wall in a pike position and then open them into stradle letting gravity pull them down. Stay in this position for five minutes. It is hard to actually hold these stretches because you get bored but just make sure you are watching tv, reading, or doing something where you will actually keep the stretch or they wont help. You have to do these stretches religiously to see results. Everyday twice a day.
Axels- make sure to get off the floor that you push into the floor with your toes before coming up. Think of your head being pulled straight towards the cieling. Engage your abs as much as possible and when you come up think of your hands and passe leg pulling towards your belly button. To practice your axel leg, make sure when you extend it that your hips are perfectly level and even to avoid your leg pulling you off center. You should pull back with your left hip slightly towards the left side as your right leg is extended. Lifting straight up as you jump and pushing into the floor to come up will help you the most...also sucking in..abs abs abs
