My youngest child smiled in the hospital - it was a real smile and not just gas. She would stare intently into your eyes and then smile the cutest little crooked smile. Her hospital picture caught it beautifully. My older 3 children were 2-4 weeks old when they first smiled.

My first daughter smiled at about 2 weeks old. A friend asked if he could nurse her and as soon as she was in his arms she had this massive smile.
My second daughter smiled at 2 minutes old. My Mum cracked a joke and she smiled and lifted up one brow.
