Is there a reason the homophobes are camped out on our stoop? Do they want us to let them in? Because the back door is usually unlocked...

If everyone would make it a point NOT to answer the homophobic posts, and simply report them and move on, I think we would be able to alleviate their presence. They simply want attention, and to hurt people. People will do crazy things over the Internet. The anonymity, among other factors, form this amalgamation of negativity and plain hatred of the GLBT community, which aids in the plaguing of this section.

PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER HOMOPHOBIC AND DEGRADING POSTS. PLEASE HELP IN THE EFFORT TO CLEAN UP YAHOO! ANSWER IN THE LGBT SECTION!

THANKS!

I've been in LGBT for over a year and a half. Before that, I was in Polls and Surveys for about a year and a half. Yeah, I've been here over 3 years. (No life huh? lol) I love LGBT. Most my questions aren't even directly related to being gay or LGBT in general. Like you said, the people on this site are more than just contacts you add. Some have become good friends. We are sort of a close-knit little family here! I just ask questions here for fun and I like to hear from my friends. Yeah I do ask gay related questions sometimes. But most are silly, like my last one, about being a bowl of fruits or salsa dip!

But there are so many heterosexuals who are supportive and intelligent. I wouldn't want them shut out because of their orientation, that wouldn't be right.

The objective of equal rights for LGBT people is to be included, not to be made better. Inclusion is important and if that means the stray homophobe barks loudly at the moon now and then so be it. The more straight and gay people speak out against bigotry the better off we all are.

The thing is... you will only see homosexuales here when you can see only ppl with a masters degree in history in the history forum, or only cooks and bar tenders in Food & Drink.

Why?? Anyone who owns an account for YA can ask or answer everywhere... You are not required to have certain expertise to answer in certain topic.

Furthermore, you maybe asking only because YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND A THING ABOUT THAT SUBJECT... Does it make sense to you? I hope so...

This is not "our stoop" (yep, I'm lesbian, therefore even according to you, I have the right to be here).

But then, I also don't like homphobes around here, that's another subject. The only thing we can do is report them and then, maybe then, we can get their accounts suspended, and maybe in time they will desist taunting us.

Greetings!!!!!

No, because that's kinda suggesting heterophobia and turning it around isn't gonna make things better. Not everyone who goes to a section are part of the group. I may go to the Religion section, but that doesn't mean I'm religious like many in there.

There are some heterosexual people who ain't homophobias and like to answer questions and ask things related to LGBT.

Homophobes are entranced by their own ***** and do not realize that such fascination reflects the unconscious admiration and attraction for all dick's and just to be able to talk about them, even in a dismissive fashion, gives them an inexplicable but extreme sense of satisfaction.

I am not gay, trans, or anything LGBT, nor am I homophobic; I visit this forum because there are interesting questions on it. It's sad that there are people posting on this forum only to insult and rile up others, but if you screened posters so that you only had LGBT people here, you'd be banning people like me too. And that would make me sad. You gotta take the good, and ignore the idiots.

I think that the more appropriate question is why are the hateful and derogatory questions and answers that a lot of people post of this site regarding homosexuals not moderated (or moderated more stringently)?

These comments would not be tolerated if it was in regards to race. Why do we have to put up with it?

As a side note:
I realize though that there are a lot of very positive individuals who post questions and replies in this forum regardless of their personal orientation and I think that that's fantastic.

Cheers,

I like to hear the views of straight people, but like you say there’s tons of homophobes who only come on to be abusive. Maybe we’re being a bit unfair on straight people, a lot of homophobes aren’t actually straight.

I support you all, it's the homophobic bigots like her hinny@$$, princess doris that don't deserve to be let in and should be permentantly banned from this section as they belong in the relegion section with all of the other bible thumpers!

I am a straight woman that has gay friends that are a lot better than her hinney@$$ duhis.
