My sister moved from Canada to Florida a year ago. She got married to a nice guy and was living with him and his family. She's always been really secretive, so it wasn't that weird not to hear from her for a month or two. I haven't heard from her since August, and now her email-that shes had for 10 years-is closed. The phone number I found has been disconnected. I called the police in Florida because I'm really worried about her. They told me that they don't have time for this type of thing, do I know how many phone calls they get about people going missing? I was told that if I wanted to find out about her I'd have to go down there myself and find her. I would, but I don't have the money to, by any stretch. I don't know what else I can do. I'm worried sick.

Maybe you could look her up on myspace! Or ask your parents or siblings if you have any.

I would keep calling the police and keep a record of who you talk to and what they say. Also speak to the police in your area and tell them the problem that you are having. Possibly they can contact them directly and get something done. I suspect that the people in Florida are truly backlogged with calls, but we have a saying, " the squeaky wheel gets the grease", so keep squeaking. Good Luck, hope you are able to at least find out that your sister is ok.

Get a lawyer to contact the Florida PD. Their job is to help with potenial crimes, and a missing person is a potential crime. They cannot tell you they will not help in this situation, unless there is more to your story than we are being told.

You could call around the neighborhood where she lived - maybe do a little research yourself. There has to be clues - something that she left. When was the last time you spoke with her?

Do you meen to say that the cops won't do a well check on her? I find that hard to believe. Call their supervisors. This is something that is done every day. Good luck to you, I hope everything is alright.

Keep call ing the police and have them do a welfare check on her. They can't say no all the time. If you are persistent they should eventually go and check on her.

Have you tried searching her out with www.whitepages.com or www.411.com? Maybe they just changed the phone number or something.
