Maybe something good can come out of this. Maybe a heterosexual will see some of the postings and if enough come maybe it will cause a change.

I know you are as normal as I am - probably more so. Keep your chin up. Not everybody hates you.

For some homophobes I think that its the fear that something so different from themselves exists out there. Some seem to think that they have no way of predicting what we'll do, how we'll act etc such that we become dangerous in their minds. In their minds we're just that fundamentally different.

I know some homophobes who seem to think that all the gay/lesbian people out there will attack and rape them any second now. Or they're paranoid that being around us will mean that they will go to hell etc etc. Or that they think that we all have some sort of infectious disease and they'll become gay too if we bite them or something.

Often they feel like they don't know any gay people so there's nothing to keep their paranoia in check. There's no reality that they can see so their fears and digust just keep growing (much the same way that racism can grown when people never come to know anyone of a particular ethnic background).

It can also be that they seem some of us bucking the gender norms and stereotypes for male and female not only in the way that some of us act but also in the way that we can/do have sex.

Irrational fear and hatred is always difficult to deal with.

I think that it's harder to irradicate homophobia because so often we're invisible within society.

That's my rant :),

Cheers,

Other then defending yourself, there isn't that much to do on the spot. Maybe you could help toward bringing to light that homosexuals are not that much different from heterosexuals.

Ignoring the problem like it doesn't exist might not always work. The homophobias may resort to more violent means like attacking. Also, ignoring doesn't usually help toward a more gay-friendly society.

I know it must be hard to know that people judging you without even knowing you, simply based on your sexual preferences. But remember - they are the ones who are worse off, they have small minds and shriveled hearts. They are the ones missing out on getting to know some truely wonderful people. My philosophy is that attraction knows no gender barriers. Attraction is attraction, love is love. As long as everyone is a consenting adult... what's the harm? Do we go into the bedrooms of hetero couples and make judgements about what they do?

Just try to ignore them and know that they are little people. They're not worth your time. There are some of us here that love you; just try to remember that when the world gets you down.

Too many! They are just afraid of their own conscious and unconscious desires, and turn it into bigotry and hatred and stay in ignorance--ironically claiming they know everything, especially what's right and best for others. Sad. Sad. Sad.

i'm catholic. even the way you may be, God still loves you. just because the way you are doesn't mean they can insult you like that. (even if you don't believe in God.)
